Abstract
A series of graphs and charts present data on: (1) current use of any illicit drug, marijuana, and cocaine (1979-1993); (2) past month use of any illicit drug (1979-1992); (3) current use of illicit drugs (full-time, part-time employees, unemployed, other); (4) current drug use by employed; (5) percentage of US companies conducting employee drug tests; (6) test-positive rate among job applicants (1989-1993); (7) decrease in current drug use among full-time workers (1985-1993); and (8) alcohol use and abuse, and heavy drinkers who also use illegal drugs. Annotated photographs of testing devices and related equipment explain briefly how to do urinalysis for phencyclidine, cocaine, tetrahydrocannabinol, and barbiturates. Two alcohol tests are also illustrated and described.
