ACTIVITIES, FINDINGS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS RESULTING FROM AN ANALYSIS OF A PROJECT DESIGNED TO GIVE ALASKA AN INTEGRATED CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMATION SYSTEM.
Abstract
A DESCRIPTION OF EXISTING CRIMINAL JUSTICE ORIENTED INFORMATION SYSTEMS IS FURNISHED. POSSIBLE APPROACHES TO AN EFFECTIVE INTEGRATION OF THESE SYSTEMS ARE EXPLORED. THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PROPOSED SYSTEM, THE DATA BASE TO BE INCLUDED, THE METHOD OF GENERATING THE INITIAL DATA BASE, DATA SECURITY PROCEDURES, AND THE INITIAL SYSTEM CONFIGURATION ARE DISCUSSED, ALONG WITH AN IMPLEMENTATION PLAN. THE APPENDIXES, CONTAINED IN A SECOND VOLUME, CONSIST OF TECHNICAL PAPERS DEVELOPED DURING THE COLLECTION PHASE OF THE PROJECT.
