This compilation of materials addresses the issue of AIDS as it relates to court procedures and court employees.
Abstract
The compilation begins with reprints of Centers for Disease Control Statistics on incidence of AIDS in the United States and across States and special population groups. Then following a brief proposed policy statement, the text of policies adopted by several court systems in Alaska, Connecticut, Georgia, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, and Rhode Island are presented. Also provided is the text of Federal workplace policy issued by the Office of Personnel Management, Office of Employee and Labor Relations. A bibliography of literature on AIDS in the workplace is included, as is the text of a Connecticut Law Journal article on the case of Eugene Mercer who claimed he had been deprived of a fair trial because of the court's disclosure that he had AIDS.
