Abstract
A paper prepared by the Administrative Office of the Courts of Miami focuses on legal issues related to AIDS in the courtroom, the prison, the workplace, and the schools. Papers prepared by the National Sheriffs Association and other sources explain the nature of the disease and summarize the relationships among the stages in the development of AIDS. Further papers discuss the responses to AIDS by State and Federal governments and note that the Centers for Disease Control has recommended that no special precautions for courtroom proceedings be taken where one or more of the participants has AIDS. The cover memorandum and further papers focus on the impact of AIDS on law enforcement, the case law that has developed on the subject, and resource information.
