Limited financial resources have meant that police departments in the United States have been forced to make savings within their own operations and changes in their programs involving community-police relations.
Abstract
The use of civilians frees sworn personnel for duties requiring police expertise, and citizen volunteers and young people are playing an increasingly important part in assisting their local police forces. (Publisher abstract)
