STUDY TO DETERMINE IF YOUNG PEOPLE WHO HIGHLY REGARD THE EQUAL RIGHTS OF OTHERS ALSO POSSESS A POSITIVE ATTITUDE TOWARD THE LEGAL SYSTEM.
Abstract
LITERATURE RELATED TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF ATTITUDES AMONG ADOLESCENTS AND PERCEPTIONS OF DEMOCRACY AND EQUALITY WAS REVIEWED. QUESTIONNAIRES WERE DISTRIBUTED TO 250 EIGHTH GRADE STUDENTS OF A KENTUCKY MIDDLE SCHOOL RANGING IN AGE FROM 12 TO 16. THE RESULTS REVEALED THAT THE OLDER SUBJECTS SHOWED THE HIGHEST CORRELATION AND THE YOUNGER SUBJECTS HAD THE LOWEST CORRELATION BETWEEN THE LEVEL OF EQUALITY AND ATTITUDE TOWARD THE INSTITUTION OF LAW. THE AUTHOR CONCLUDES THAT THE TEST SAMPLE SUPPORTS THE HYPOTHESIS.
