Abstract
In addition to identifying treatment programs and field services, the pamphlet presents information about facilities under construction and inmate statistics as of June 30, 1990. Available treatment programs during 1989-1990 include medical and mental health services, chaplaincy services, education, vocational education, and volunteer services. The boot camp program, a new field service initiative, began during fiscal year 1990. A voluntary, 15-week program of intensive behavior modification, boot camp is an intensified correctional program designed to deter repetition of criminal behavior and illegal drug use and reduce the need for long-term incarceration. Parole, work release, and prerelease make up the other field services. As of June 30, 1990, the average daily inmate population totaled 5,954.
