Abstract
Michigan's specifications and qualification testing system for police patrol cars are detailed. The report describes testing methods used to evaluate the vehicle's high speed pursuit handling characteristics and braking performance for pursuit service. Tables summarize the results of these tests for each model car. Other tests rate the vehicle's comfort, space, controls, and visibility as well as its ability to accommodate required communications and emergency warning equipment. Fuel economy data is provided. Hardware descriptions for each model are appended.
