"Sex Offender Recidivism Study" summarizes and provides online access to "Recidivism of Sex Offenders Released From State Prison: A 9-Year Follow-Up (2005-14)," which compares released prisoners whose most serious commitment offense was rape or sexual assault to all other released prisoners, in terms of their characteristics and recidivism patterns. "Research Brief: Identity Theft and Fraud" presents an overview of identity theft and fraud, which discusses their features, prevalence, harms, risk of victimization, the nature and effects of victims services, and how related policy, practice, and research can be improved. "Public Safety Technology in the News" includes accounts of the FBI's opening of a new digital forensics laboratory in Massachusetts, a sheriff's department's partnering with a mental health clinic, and the anticipated opening of a new police station in Firestone, Colorado, which will include a municipal courtroom, records area, forensics lab, and an onsite training room.
