This document highlights 15 programs that are geared toward the support of community-based organizations and community-led efforts to prevent and reduce crime and recidivism.

Abstract

This document describes 15 funding opportunities and training and technical assistance (TTA) programs for supporting community-led efforts as well as efforts by state, local, and tribal law enforcement and prosecution agencies, in order to reduce violent crime and recidivism. The document provides information and links on the following Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) programs: Byrne Criminal Justice Innovation (BCJI) Program; Community-based Approaches to Prevent and Address Hate Crimes Program; Community-based Violence Intervention and Prevention Initiative; Community Courts Initiative; Encouraging Innovation – Field Initiated Program; Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program (JAG); Project Safe Neighborhoods; Emmett Till Cold Case Investigations Initiative; Reimagining Justice – Testing a New Model of Community Safety; Second Chance Act – Community-based Reentry Program, the Improving Reentry Education and Employment Outcomes Program, and the Reentry Program Evaluation Support Initiative; Student, Teachers, and Officers Preventing (STOP) School Violence Program; and National Training and Technical Assistance Center (BJA NTTAC), which facilitates the delivery of TTA to the criminal justice community.
