This is the addendum for State law enforcement agencies that is attached to the core questionnaire sent to both State and local law enforcement agencies with an automated fingerprint identification system (AFIS) for the purpose of obtaining information on their AFIS's interoperability, i.e., its ability to exchange and share AFIS data with other jurisdictions.
The addendum has questions on six topics. The first section solicits information on local law enforcement agencies with an AFIS within the State. Questions concern whether the State law enforcement agency keeps a record of how many local law enforcement agencies (LEAs) within the State have an AFIS, the number of such local LEAs, whether local LEAs forward "tenprints" and palm prints to the State LEA, and whether local LEAs forward unsolved latent prints to the State agency. Remaining sections of the addendum contain questions pertinent to search frequencies in general, search frequencies with local LEAs with an AFIS, search frequencies with other State LEAs with an AFIS, and whether the State agency searches the FBI's AFIS and the AFISs of other Federal agencies.
