Launched in May 2017, this weekly podcast series is about to conclude its first 13-episode season, which has had features on optical topography, DNA mixtures, human factors, and subjective probability. This podcast series stems from FTCoE's commitment to expanding ways in which the findings of innovative research in forensic technology and its uses can be disseminated to forensic scientists and others involved in the practice and use of forensic science. Early data on the amount of site traffic for the series indicates it is being accessed in significant numbers. The series has been leveraging other work to provide its content. The host of the series, Dr. John Morgan of the FTCoE, seeks out leading forensic science professionals for interviews at forensic science conferences. The focus is on researchers who have conducted studies funded by the U.S. Justice Department's National Institute of Justice (NIJ). Criminal justice practitioners have also been interviewed, including prosecutors, investigators, and victim advocates, as well as crime laboratory leaders. The podcasts last 30-45 minutes and are available through most of the popular podcast delivery services. Nearly 30 episodes have been completed, including many for the new seasons on drugs and cutting-edge case investigations.
