Online access is provided to course materials for instruction in advanced tactical analysis that uses the tools of a Geographic Information System (GIS).
Abstract
Students who enroll in the course are expected to have used, at a minimum, ArcGIS 9.x and have an understanding of basic GIS terminology and methods. The course materials and examples use ArcGIS 10.1 for Desktop Basic 10.1; however, the techniques and analytical methods presented can be applied in many GIS environments. Course materials address ArcGIS working directory and review of ArcMap, map production and consistency, data, spatial statistics spatial analysis, reprocessing using ModelBuilder, animation, automatic vehicle location, case studies, and exercises. Course materials include a student workbook, instructor presentation, additional reading, exercises and solutions, and sample data. Instructions are provided for online access to the course materials.
