This website functions as the portal for the Center for Reducing Racial and Ethnic Disparities (Center for RR/ED). It includes information and resources that are relevant to the Center for RR/ED activities and provides a location for sharing resources and guidance as they develop. The page for the Center for RR/ED’s Youth and Family Advisory Council notes that it will be composed of up to 15 members from diverse backgrounds with experiences in the youth justice system, its primary function will be to serve as a guiding bodies for all Center for RR/ED activities. The Ending R/ED Innovation Lab is designed to ignite action at the local level to end R/ED; the Lab’s webpage provides background information on its goals and strategy, as well as participating jurisdictions, invites Innovation Lab applicants to check back as updates are released, and encourages a holistic approach to tackling racial inequities and leveraging the expertise of professionals from different fields to inform and shape comprehensive strategies. The Center for RR/ED also hosts a dynamic online training series for key leaders in the field to support states and U.S. territories as they participate in the Title II Part B formula grant program to develop, strengthen, and implement their Reducing RR/ED Plans in response to the Juvenile Justice Department’s core requirements. The Compliance Training Series is presented in five parts and provides a comprehensive platform to provide participants with the tools and knowledge they need to effectively address R/ED within their systems, and foster peer-to-peer learning and support.
