In this short video - one in a series of video resources on stalking, sponsored by the Stalking Prevention, Awareness, & Resource Center (SPARC) – a law enforcement officer provides advice for stalking victims regarding reporting their victimization to police.

Abstract

The law enforcement officer speaking on the video is Sergeant Denise Jones of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office (Ohio). She advises that when one perceives that another person is engaging in repeated, targeted behavior that is adversely affecting one’s sense of well-being and safety, this should be reported early in its occurrence and as often as each victimizing event occurs thereafter. Over time these police reports and associated evidence of stalking can provide a solid case for a criminal charge of stalking.
