This webinar explores the high challenges faced by Commercially and Sexually Exploited Children, and the value of positive mentoring relationships in helping young people resist and overcome these abuses. Our panel centers the voices and experiences of survivors and youth from vulnerable backgrounds, and also offers a provider perspective.
We explore best practices for mentoring youth who are vulnerable to exploitation, including relationship-focused work, trauma-informed practice, and strengths-based and youth- and survivor-led programming.
Woven into the discussion is a critical understanding that truly addressing the problem of youth exploitation in our society requires not only a commitment to assist young people to better adapt, but also to address the environmental causes of exploitation at both the micro and macro levels.
