A SURVEY CONDUCTED AMONG CORRECTIONAL ADMINISTRATORS PERTAINING TO THE TEACHING PERSONNEL INDICATED THAT MORE RESEARCH IS NEEDED IN THE AREA OF TEACHER-EDUCATION TRAINING PROGRAMS IN RELATION TO CORRECTIONAL PROGRAMS.
Abstract
IT IS BELIEVED THAT MANY OF THE TEACHER-EDUCATION PROGRAM CURRICULA IN COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES CAN BE MODIFIED AND SUPPLEMENTED TO MEET THE NEEDS OF A CORRECTIONAL EDUCATION COUNTERPART. SUGGESTIONS FOR THESE MODIFICATIONS AND SUPPLEMENTATIONS ARE: THE HISTORY OF CORRECTIONAL EDUCATION; PRISON HISTORY; PRISON SECURITY SYSTEMS; PSYCHOLOGY OF THE DEVIANT; INDIVIDUALIZED PROGRAMMED INSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES; LEARNING DISABILITY TEACHING TECHNIQUES; AND STUDENT PRACTICE TEACHING IN CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTIONS....RCB
