Abstract

The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) has been turning to high-tech solutions and the Internet to inform the public of new research findings and their implications for the juvenile justice field. The OJJDP Statistical Briefing Book (SBB) enables users to access online information via OJJDP's Web site to learn more about juvenile crime and victimization, and about youth involved in the juvenile justice system. The SBB provides timely and reliable statistical answers to the most frequently asked questions from policymakers, the media, and the general public, and gives users quick and easy access to detailed statistics on a variety of juvenile justice topics. It includes: a "Did You Know?" section offering new facts and information every time users visit the Home page; a "What's New" section to facilitate user access to the most up-to-date information; a "Frequently Asked Questions" section; data analysis tools; and access to related publications. The SBB is a primary, continually updated source of information about the juvenile justice field in the United States and throughout the world.
