This report analyzes the characteristics of inmates confined at the Juneau County Jail (Wisconsin) during 1985 and compares them with those of jail inmates in previous years.
Abstract
Data cover management information (month/day/hour of admission, time served, and average daily population), inmate profile (gender, race, age, and charges), analyses of long-term inmates and drunk driving violators, and a comparison of 1983-85 confinements and a summary of confinements from 1975 through 1985. The average daily population for the entire year was 17 inmates, a figure considerably higher than the 12.8 figure in 1984. Generally, admission patterns and inmate characteristics resemble those found in other Wisconsin county jails. The large numbers of drunk driving offenders and the sharp rise in inmates with drug-related offenses are noteworthy. 17 graphs and 7 tables.
