This pamphlet is full of information that can help disabled persons to realize their potential as citizens of the State of Illinois. Prohibitions on discrimination against disabled persons are described in terms of obtaining employment and credit, buying real estate, medical insurance and life insurance, and accommodations for guide dogs. Accessibility requirements for buildings, public transportation and facilities, sidewalk ramps, and election places allow disabled people equal privileges of mobility. Information on obtaining disabled ID cards, and license plates, as well as information on voting, education, State services, and health care are detailed and displayed for quick reference. Phone numbers of numerous organizations and services are provided.
