This research review lists the latest primary and secondary literature related to elder abuse in the United States that was published during the National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA) grant cycle at USC, which began September 2014 and ended August 2017.
          Abstract
Although more research is needed to examine the prevalence, risk prevention, and detection of elder abuse, the NCEA is dedicated to disseminating peer-reviewed research as it is published, so as to highlight what is known about elder abuse and identify gaps in information on policy and practice in the field. Articles in this compilation cover topics in the elder abuse field that include, but are not limited to, multiple types of abuse. The listings are presented under the following topics: 1) financial, physical, psychological, sexual abuse, and neglect (7 listings); 2) self-neglect (8 listings); 3) women and elder abuse (7 listings); 4) long-term care (6 listings); 5) cognition and capacity (3 listings); 6) mental and emotional health (9 listings); 7) elder abuse detection (18 listings); 8) policy and intervention (10 listings); and 9) miscellaneous reviews (16 listings).
