This report explains the status of funding and expenditures by the U.S. Department of Defense for drug law enforcement and other drug-related efforts during fiscal year 1990.
Abstract
The total appropriation was $450 million, but obligation rates as of July 31, 1990 were generally lower than those for other defense programs due to the late receipt of obligating authority, policy decisions requiring congressional approval, apportionment issues, changes in counternarcotics programs required by the final appropriations law, and other factors. Funding was obligated for operations and maintenance, National Guard personnel, procurement, research and development, and testing and evaluation. Table
