These three videocassettes document mediation with a divorcing couple as they seek to resolve issues attending the divorce in a manner acceptable to both parties.
Abstract
The mediator provided a forum for the parties to convey their thoughts and feelings to one another as well as address concrete issues attending the divorce. The mediation process required a number of sessions, some of which involved a meeting between the mediator and only one party. Focal issues of the mediation included custody of the children, ownership and occupancy of the house, child support, and the parties' emotional responses to the divorce. The resolution developed as an outcome of the mediation included a detailed budget and the wife's acceptance of her husband's wish to go through with the divorce.
