This article examines the dismissal, conviction, and incarceration rates for about 10,000 male defendants in Los Angeles during the late 1970s and compares these rates for Hispanic, Anglo, and black defendants.
Abstract
On controlling for legal and extralegal factors and after using multivariate analysis, little difference in the treatment of these defendants is found. (Author abstract)
