This fiscal year 1979-80 report of the Denver Community Corrections Program describes the progress of clients through the program, the activities of the Denver Board, staff activities, and the status of client-serving projects as of June 30, 1980.
Abstract
'Diversion clients' are referred to the Denver Community Corrections Program by order of a district court judge for a specified number of days. The Community Corrections Board sits as a case review and policy formulation group representing community interests; it accepts all court referrals that meet criteria measuring nonviolence. 'Transitional clients' are referred to the Community Corrections Board by the Department of Corrections; their placement in a community facility is part of a gradual release community reintegration program. There were 362 admissions to the program during the fiscal year. These clients received 25,167 days of community correctional services. Other information provided deals with program effectiveness, client costs versus client earned income, program absconders, and a review of clients referred. The client acceptance policy is appended, and tabular and graphic data are provided throughout the report.
