FINAL REPORT ON A PROJECT TO SURVEY THE DEGREE OF PRESENT COMPLIANCE WITH AND THE ACCEPTABILITY OF THE FORMULATED STANDARDS AND GOALS BY LOCAL AGENCIES AND OFFICIALS IN ALABAMA, AND TO DISTRIBUTE THE STANDARDS AND GOALS.
Abstract
IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE PROJECT GOALS, A WORKBOOK WAS PRINTED AND DISTRIBUTED TO CRIMINAL JUSTICE AGENCIES IN THE STATE. TEAR SHEETS WERE INCLUDED FOR THE RECIPIENT TO INDICATE COMPLIANCE AND ACCEPTABILITY. THE WORKBOOKS CONTAINED THE COMPLETE SET OF STANDARDS AND GOALS AS WELL. ONLY ONE STANDARD WAS REJECTED BY A MAJORITY OF THE RESPONDENTS. THIS WAS THE STANDARD WHICH CALLS FOR THE JUDGE TO DO ALL SENTENCING, NEVER LEAVING IT TO THE JURY.
