This webinar, hosted by the National District Attorneys Association (NDAA), will highlight some of the widespread differences in Tribal-county relations nationwide, the advantages and disadvantages of a single-system approach, and some of the benefits of collaborating and entering agreements across jurisdictions. The event runs from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. ET.
Presenters will discuss the different law enforcement agencies with jurisdiction in and outside of Indian country, depending on the history of the Tribe, the individuals involved, the level of the offense, and the various juvenile justice systems in place. Presenters will also discuss applicable federal and state laws, including Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) requirements. The webinar will also include guidance on developing MOUs and MOAs and perspectives from Native youth.
Learning Objectives:

OJJDP's National Training and Technical Assistance Center (NTTAC) will share registration information with NDAA for CLE credit purposes.
