What the New OMB Uniform Guidance Means

Uniform Guidance Update

In 2024, OMB released an updated version of the Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (known as the "Uniform Guidance" or "Part 200"), along with other guidance updates. The Code of Federal Regulations, in 2 C.F.R. Part 200, will be revised to reflect the updated Uniform Guidance on October 1, 2024, the effective date of OMB's updates. OMB also released supplementary resources, including a redline document showing the 2024 revisions, and issued an accompanying implementation memorandum as well as reference guides. OJP is assessing the impact of the updates to OJP recipients of federal financial assistance and will post updated information here as it becomes available, on or before the updated guidance implementation date of October 1, 2024.
