THE USE OF UNDERCOVER AGENTS TO DETECT INTERNAL THEFT FROM A COMPANY IS RISKY BECAUSE IT MIGHT BE CONSTRUED AS A 'SPYING OPERATION' OR A 'UNION BUSTING' TACTIC OR AN INVASION OF EMPLOYEE'S PRIVACY.
Abstract
WHEN AN UNDERCOVER OPERATION IS EMPLOYED IT SHOULD BE CLOSELY CONTROLLED, USED SPARINGLY, AND ALWAYS MADE A PART OF AN OVERALL PLAN - NOT A SEPARATE OPERATION IN ITSELF. A HEALTHY, FAIR AND WELL ADMINISTERED COMPANY IS THE GREATEST DETERRENT OF ALL TO CRIME AND RELATED PROBLEMS. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT)
