DESCRIPTION AND DISCUSSION OF FOUR SERIES OF EXPERIMENTS CONDUCTED TO STUDY THE DEGENERATIVE CHANGES OF FIVE DIFFERENT SPECIES OF HAIR (INCLUDING HUMAN) SUBJECTED TO DIFFERENT ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS.
Abstract
PUTREFYING AND SAPROPHYTIC BACTERIA WERE FOUND TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CHANGES, PARTICULARLY IN THE ROOT OF THE HAIR. IT IS SUGGESTED THAT A HAIR WITH THE ABOVE DEGENERATED ROOT COLLECTED DURING POST-MORTEM EXAMINATION CONSIDERED IN THE LIGHT OF THE ENVIRONMENT OF THE DEAD BODY MIGHT BE INDICATIVE OF THE TIME OF DEATH.
