THE FUNCTIONS OF CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTIONS ARE TO KEEP PEOPLE IN CUSTODY, TO BRING ABOUT CHANGES IN THEM SO THAT THEY CAN BE REHABILITATED, AND TO CARRY ON ACTIVITIES NEEDED FOR THE CONTINUED EXISTENCE OF THE ORGANIZATION.
Abstract
A STUDY OF AN ORGANIZATION'S METHODS WILL GIVE A CLEAR IDEA OF WHAT PRIORITIES ARE GIVEN TO EACH OF THESE THREE FUNCTIONS. THIS IS A SUMMARY OF A LONGER WORK, THE FIRST PART OF WHICH DEALS WITH AN ANALYSIS WHICH WAS MADE OF THE WORK OF CORRECTIONAL PERSONNEL USING THE CRITICAL INCIDENT METHOD. THE SECOND PART OF THE LONGER WORK REPORTS AND COMMENTS ON THREE STUDIES THAT WERE MADE ON THE TRAINING OF CORRECTIONAL PERSONNEL. --IN SWEDISH
