EVALUATION OF A PENNSYLVANIA PROGRAM THAT WAS DESIGNED TO REDUCE DELINQUENCY AMONG INSTITUTIONALIZED GIRLS THROUGH INTENSIVE GROUP THERAPY.
Abstract
SUBJECTS FOR THE STUDY WERE SELECTED FROM THE RESIDENT POPULATION AT SLEIGHTON SCHOOL IN DELAWARE COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA. AMONG CONCLUSIONS, THE PERSONAL GROWTH GROUP SUBJECTS REPORTED A SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE IN THE DIRECTION OF INCREASED IMAGE OF SELF-COMPETENCE AS COMPARED TO THE CONTROL GROUP. PARTICIPANTS IN THE GROUP THERAPY ALSO REPORTED SIGNIFICANT CHANGE IN THEIR ATTITUDE TOWARD THE LEGAL SYSTEM AND FIGURES OF AUTHORITY.
