AN ARGUMENT SUPPORTING THE EFFECTIVENESS AND EFFICIENCY OF MOTORIZED PATROLS FLEXIBLY USED INSTEAD OF SUCCUMBING TO PRESSURE FOR THE EXPANSION OF FOOT PATROLS.
Abstract
THE AUTHOR INTENDS TO COUNTERACT PUBLIC AND POLITICAL PRESSURE THAT ARGUES FOR AN INCREASE OF FOOT PATROLS AS AN EFFECTIVE METHOD FOR REDUCING NEIGHBORHOOD CRIME. IT IS MAINTAINED THAT PATROL TO HEADQUARTERS COMMUNICATIONS, QUICK RESPONSE, VISIBLE PRESENCE, AND MOST EFFICIENT PERSONNEL USE IS SERVED BY MOTORIZED PATROLS. THE AUTHOR DOES ARGUE, HOWEVER, FOR FLEXIBILITY IN REGULATIONS THAT WOULD PERMIT PATROLMEN TO LEAVE THEIR CARS AND PATROL ON FOOT.
