Abstract
APPROACHING A SUSPECT TOO QUICKLY OR TOO CLOSELY MAY RESULT IN VIOLENCE IF THE SUSPECT ATTEMPTS TO DEFEND AN INTRUSION INTO HIS PERSONAL SPACE. EXTERNAL SYMPTOMS OF ANXIETY SHOULD BE CAREFULLY NOTED WHEN APPROACHING A SUSPECT FOR THIS REASON.
