Abstract
PARTICIPANTS AT THE GATHERING DISCUSSED A WORKING DEFINITION OF TERRORISM AND WHETHER IT IS JUSTIFIABLE AT ANY TIME. TYPOLOGIES OF TERRORISM WERE DEBATED AND IDENTIFIED, SUCH AS ETHNIC (INCLUDING RELIGIOUS, LINGUISTIC, REGIONAL), NATIONALISTIC (ANTI-COLONIAL), IDEOLOGICAL (ANARCHIST, RADICAL LEFTIST, EXTREME RIGHTIST), AND PATHOLOGICAL (SUCH AS THE MANSON GANG).
