CRITIQUE OF THE ROLE OF CRIMINAL PSYCHOLOGY IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF CRIMINOLOGICAL THEORIES IN THE CONTEXT OF A MAJOR THEORETICAL REORIENTATION IN EUROPEAN CRIMINOLOGY SINCE THE 1960'S.
Abstract
THERE IS A TENDENCY FOR THE MORE RECENT THEORIES TO BE BASED ON AN ANALYSIS OF THE SOCIAL REACTION TO CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR INSTEAD OF AN ANALYSIS OF CRIMINOGENIC FACTORS WHICH DISTINGUISH CRIMINALS FROM NON-CRIMINALS. MOST CONTRIBUTIONS OF CRIMINAL PSYCHOLOGY UP TO THE 1960'S HAVE ATTEMPTED TO DETERMINE CRIMINOGENIC FACTORS IN THE PSYCHOLOGY OF OFFENDERS. PROPOSALS ARE MADE FOR REORIENTING CRIMINAL PSYCHOLOGICAL RESEARCH IN THE DIRECTION OF THE LATER THEORETICAL TRENDS. --IN FRENCH
