Abstract
THIS REPORT PROVIDES DETAILS OF THE FEBRUARY 19-20, 1975 MEETING OF THE ADVISORY COUNCIL HELD IN AUSTIN, TEXAS. THAT MEETING RESULTED IN COUNCIL APPROVAL OF A MODEL HOLDUP AND BURGLAR ALARM BUSINESS LICENSING STATUTE. A REPORT ON THE MODEL STATUTE WILL NOW BE PUBLISHED AND DISSEMINATED NATIONALLY. THE SECOND MAJOR REPORT OF THE ADVISORY COUNCIL, A MODEL PRIVATE SECURITY LICENSING AND REGULATORY STATUTE, WAS THE SUBJECT OF PUBLIC HEARINGS AT THE AUSTIN MEETING. WHEN COMPLETED, THE MODEL STATUTE REGULATING PRIVATE SECURITY GUARD SERVICES AND ITS COMPANION DOCUMENT, THE MODEL HOLDUP AND BURGLAR ALARM BUSINESS LICENSING STATUTE WILL PROVIDE EXCELLENT GUIDELINES FOR JURISDICTIONS CONSIDERING LEGISLATION TO INCREASE THE LEVELS OF PUBLIC PROTECTION PROVIDED BY PRIVATE SECURITY.
