OVERALL REVIEW OF THE LIBRARY IN DECEMBER 1974, DEALING WITH SUCH ISSUES AS WHETHER RESOURCES ARE ADEQUATE FOR OPERATIONS, WHETHER THE STAFF STRENGTH IS SUFFICIENT, AND WHAT NEW INNOVATIONS MIGHT BE APPROPRIATE TO CONSIDER.
Abstract
IN ORDER TO ACCOMPLISH THE GOALS OF THE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROJECT, A SITE VISIT WAS MADE OF THE FACILITIES IN BOISE. THE DOCUMENT COLLECTION WAS REVIEWED, THE OPERATIONS WERE STUDIED, AND THE CONSULTANTS MET WITH THE STAFF. THIS REPORT IS PRESENTED IN TWO PARTS; THE FIRST PART CONTAINS AN ANALYSIS OF THE BOOK COLLECTION. THIS PART OF THE STUDY OUTLINES SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVING THE COLLECTION AND ALSO DISCUSSES BUDGET, BINDING, AND SPACE REQUIREMENTS. THE LAST HALF OF THE REPORT CONTAINS COMMENTARY ON LIBRARY SERVICES AND OPERATIONS, INCLUDING INFORMATION ON ITS BOOK LENDING SERVICE, SERVICE TO COUNTY LAW LIBRARIES, AND PERSONNEL STAFFING....KAP
