THIS PAPER OUTLINES SEVERAL PEOPLE-RELATED VARIABLES WHICH MEDIATE BETWEEN ANY DATA SOURCE ABOUT CORRECTIONAL OFFENDERS AND THE ENTRY OF DATA IN AN AUTOMATED OR MANUAL INFORMATION SYSTEM.
Abstract
IT IS DEMONSTRATED THAT IDEOLOGY OF THE PERSONNEL RESPONSIBLE FOR GATHERING THE INFORMATION AND THE STYLE IN WHICH THESE PERSONNEL ARE SUPERVISED MAY IMPACT SIGNIFICANTLY ON THE WILLINGNESS AND/OR ABILITY OF CORRECTIONAL PERSONNEL TO CONFORM THEIR DATA GATHERING TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF AN OPERATIONAL SYSTEM. FINALLY, SUGGESTIONS ARE MADE FOR INCREASING THE ACCURACY OF THE INFORMATION BY MODIFYING THE INTERACTION OF CORRECTIONAL PERSONNEL. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT)...MSP
