BASIC METHODS USED TO BLOW UP AND BURGLARIZE SAFES AND SECURITY VAULTS, BASIC COUNTERMEASURES AGAINST THEM, AND THE SCOPE OF THE PROBLEM IN SWITZERLAND.
Abstract
THE NUMBER OF CASES OF DYNAMITED SAFES IN SWITZERLAND ROSE FROM FIVE BETWEEN 1960 AND 1966 TO ONE EVERY FIFTEEN DAYS IN 1973. THE DYNAMITING OF BANK VAULTS, WHICH ARE USUALLY LOCATED BELOW GROUND, IS NOT CONSIDERED A DANGER IN SWITZERLAND AT THE PRESENT TIME EXCEPT AS AN ACT OF TERRORISM. HOWEVER, SINCE CASES OF SUCCESSFUL DYNAMITING AND REMOVAL OF THE CONTENTS OF SECURITY VAULTS HAVE ALREADY BEEN REPORTED IN THE UNITED STATES, THE AUTHOR URGES RESEARCH NOW ON POSSIBLE COUNTERMEASURES. THE DISCUSSION HERE INCLUDES POSSIBLE POINTS WHERE EXPLOSIVES CAN BE PLACED, AND THE DANGER OF TIME BOMBS BEING PLANTED IN SAFE-DEPOSIT BOXES. --IN FRENCH
