Abstract
THE INCREASES IN CRIME THAT HAVE ACCOMPANIED ECONOMIC GROWTH IN THE DEVELOPING COUNTRIES AND INDUSTRIALIZED NATIONS OF THE WORLD ARE FIRST DISCUSSED. THE NEGATIVE IMPACT OF CRIME ON THE DELICATE ECONOMIES OF DEVELOPING NATIONS IS STRESSED. FACTORS OF DEVELOPMENT WHICH MAY BE POTENTIALLY CRIMINOGENIC ARE EXAMINED. THE AUTHOR SUGGESTS METHODS OF INCORPORATING CRIME PREVENTION PLANNING INTO ECONOMIC AND DEVELOPMENT PLANNING, AND REVIEWS INTERNATIONAL ASSISTANCE EFFORTS IN CRIME PREVENTION PLANNING.
