THIS RESEARCH DESIGN EMPLOYED HYPOTHETICAL DECISION MAKING SITUATIONS INVOLVING JUVENILES AND PROBATION OFFICERS, WITH VARYING QUANTITIES AND TYPES OF INFORMATION.
Abstract
THE ISSUES THIS STUDY IS CONCERNED WITH ARE THE NATURE, TYPE, AND QUANTITY OF INFORMATION USED BY JUVENILES PROBATION OFFICERS IN THE DECISIONS THEY MAKE CONCERNING JUVENILES. THE AUTHORS CONCLUDE THAT, FIRST, THERE WAS A LACK OF CONSENSUS ABOUT WHICH DECISION TO MAKE, AND, SECONDLY, THAT MANY TYPES OF STRATEGY WERE EMPLOYED IN REACHING DECISIONS. --IN FRENCH --SUMMARY IN ENGLISH
