Abstract
THE AUTHOR DISCUSSES THE CONCEPT AND TECHNIQUES OF CRISIS INTERVENTION TRAINING. HE ALSO SUGGESTS WAYS IN WHICH VARIOUS-SIZED DEPARTMENTS CAN DEVELOP SUCH PROGRAMS. STRESSED ARE THE NEED TO ALLOW THE OPPORTUNITY FOR PRACTICE BY USING SIMULATION EXERCISES AND THE NEED TO HAVE CONSULTANTS OR EXPERIENCED SENIOR OFFICERS DEVELOP THE PROGRAM CURRICULUM.
