THE STUDY WAS UNDERTAKEN IN RESPONSE TO RECENT FINDINGS WHICH INDICATE THAT BOTH AN INCREASE IN REPORTED FEMALE CRIME AND AN UPSURGE IN INTEREST ON THE SUBJECT HAVE OCCURRED.
