Abstract
A BROAD RANGE OF TOPICS IN THE FIELD OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE IS COVERED. DIFFERENT APPROACHES TO MODELS OF CRIMINOLOGY, FOCUSING ON PEOPLE, ENVIRONMENT, OR CONFLICT ARE FIRST EXAMINED. TOPICS INCLUDED IN THESE PAPERS ARE AN EXAMINATION OF CHARACTERISTICS OF DELINQUENTS AND NON-DELINQUENTS, THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PATHOLOGY AND HOMICIDE, AND HOMICIDE IN RELATION TO DRUG USERS AND NON-USERS. RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN HOMICIDE AND CERTAIN SOCIO-CULTURAL VARIABLES, AND DRUG USE CAUSES, AND THE INTERRELATIONSHIP OF SOCIAL STRUCTURE, NARCOTICS USE AND THE COMMISSION OF CRIMES ARE ALSO DISCUSSED. TERRORISM AND A CROSS-CULTURAL PERSPECTIVE ON THE USE OF FIREARMS AND THE COMMISSION OF HOMICIDE ARE EXAMINED AS WELL. LABELING, THE CREATION OF POPULAR IMAGES ABOUT CRIME, AND THE DISCRETIONARY ENFORCEMENT OF CRIMINAL STATUTES ARE INCLUDED IN THE FINAL CHAPTERS OF THIS COLLECTION. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED)
