A DESCRIPTION OF THE VARIOUS TYPES OF CONSULTANTS AVAILABLE AND THE ADVANTAGES OF EACH, WITH SUGGESTIONS ON FEES, DATA PROCESSING SYSTEMS, AND TRAINING PROGRAMS.
Abstract
THREE TYPES OF CONSULTANTS - THE ACADEMIC CONSULTANT, THE MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT, AND THE TECHNICAL CONSULTANT - ARE DEFINED. THE AREAS OF SPECIALIZATION AND TYPE OF CONSULTATION WORK PERFORMED BY EACH ARE OUTLINED. THE AUTHOR STRESSES THE IMPORTANCE OF TRAINING IN THE USE OF NEW TECHNIQUES SUGGESTED TO THE COURTS AND OF THOROUGHLY DEFINING AND UNDERSTANDING COURT FUNCTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS BEFORE INVESTING IN DATA PROCESSING SYSTEMS. VARIATIONS IN FEES BETWEEN THE THREE TYPES OF CONSULTANTS AND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NON-PROFIT AND PROFIT CONSULTING FIRMS ARE ALSO DISCUSSED.
