Abstract
THE ARGUMENT PRESENTED SUPPORTS CHANGE IN THE CORRECTIONAL ORGANIZATION TO REFLECT ITS GOAL OF REHABILITATING INMATES. AS A REHABILITATIVE SOLUTION, THE AUTHOR ADVOCATES INMATE SELF-MANAGEMENT THROUGH CONTINGENCY MANAGEMENT. CONTINGENCY MANAGEMENT IS A SYSTEM OF RELATING ENVIRONMENTAL CONSEQUENCES TO ACHIEVEMENT SO THAT INDIVIDUALS REALIZE THAT THEY ARE SIGNIFICANT AND THAT THEIR BEHAVIOR HAS AN EFFECT UPON THE ENVIRONMENT.
