National Satellite Videoconference to Spotlight Federal Multi-agency Reentry Initiative

 

 

WASHINGTON, D.C. ? On Thursday, February 28, the Justice Department?s Office of Justice Programs will broadcast a national satellite videoconference to highlight the new Serious and Violent Offender Reentry Initiative.? A collaboration among the Departments of Education, Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development, Justice and Labor, the initiative supports efforts to ensure public safety by helping returning offenders become productive members of their communities.?? The videoconference will provide crucial information regarding the program?s design and goals, funding levels, eligible applicants and eligible activities.? It will also answer many frequently asked questions about the initiative.

WHAT:??????????? Serious and Violent Offender Reentry Initiative Satellite Videoconference

 

The videoconference is the first part of OJP?s effort to provide information about the Reentry Initiative and answer questions from prospective applicants.? OJP will also convene a series of eight regional workshops, with the first one scheduled for March 8 in Columbus, Ohio.
