January 13, 2009, marked the 13th anniversary of the abduction and murder of 9-year-old Amber Hagerman. Although Amber’s case remains unsolved, the AMBER Alert system created in her memory has become an effective crime-fighting tool. Law enforcement officials, broadcasters, transportation agencies, and a host of public and private organizations have formed unprecedented partnerships on behalf of child safety. Thanks to the AMBER Alert system, more than 430 abducted children have been recovered and returned to their families.
You, too, can become part of the AMBER Alert network by enrolling in the Wireless AMBER Alerts™ initiative.
